How Can It Be?

How can it be,

That in my lonely wanderings you have found me?

You, with your tender eloquence and your traditional mannerisms,

You pulled me from a dark abyss and filled my days with light.

Once I thought I knew what love was, Only an expectant thrill, or an inner quaking.

Those sensations I had never felt before, and wasn't sure that I ever would.

I was mistaken, I was wrong.

I now know the giddiness of new love,

But it is touched with something infinitely deeper,

For with you I feel no restlessness, no urgency or fear.

No doubt of how you think of me or questioning myself.

A part of me wonders why we met.

What if you didn't find me, and I didn't find you,

But rather we found each other.

Each of us, out there searching for something elusive and unknown,

And Someone, omnipotent and omnipresent,

Knowing our unspoken needs Brought us together.
